The Solar Impulse, lets fly towards a green planet!

Probably and hopefully everybody remembers this great innovative invention from our presentation. For those who don’t, the image on the right shows you The Solar Impulse. What’s so great about this airplane is that it’s entirely driven by solar energy. As you can see, the airplane’s wings are covered with solar panels, which can convert energy from the sun into electricity. This electricity can then be used to power the four propellers or can be saved in the plane’s accumulators.

I hear you, how could this ever fit in our MTB-society? Good question! Actually, if you remembered the content of the presentation, you would know that we ended with a small video where the plane’s pilot did his saying. The key message he wanted to pass along was that the Solar Impulse was never created to be implemented as a commercial airplane or whatsoever. It’s more of a symbol that has to create a certain mindset within the entire population. People have to start realising that green energy is the only future we can have and that everybody has to think this way! Personally, I totally agree with this mindset, therefore I made this post!
