The lighter a car, the lower the fuel consumption. Therefore it’s better for the environment and it enables you to cut down on your expenses. That’s why I drive a Suzuki Alto. In spite of the witty remarks, I am very proud to be the owner of this little car that brings me everywhere I want to go.
So I proudly present you: my Suzy!
But cars that perform even better in terms of environmental awareness also exist. Urbi is a little, electric car of which the body only weighs 19 kilos because it’s based on the structure of a quad bike and made out of braided carbon fibre. This featherweight, invented by the Belgian engineer Jacques Ladyjensky, offers three comfortable seats. The maximum speed is unfortunately limited to 45 km/h, but it is able to drive 50 km without recharging. This performance should be sufficient to travel to work in an urban environment or to go shopping. It would only cost you 4000 euros.
But as you can see the vehicle isn’t that eye-catching, so you’ll probably have to cope with even more remarks than my Suzy and myself have already suffered from. Unless you become an expat in India or something like that…
